My July To-Do List

It seems that the linky to do this week is {The First Grade Parade's Favorite Pins Friday!} I am going to treat it as my virtual to-do list this month, since I can't possible cram all of my favorites into one post!!

Kristen set up this wonderful site for her class. I totally need to do this, because I would like a one-stop place for all of the information my fifth grade families need. Unfortunately, I'll need to figure out how to design it on my own unless I want to pay someone to do it, which I don't. I don't mind paying someone for my personal blog, but not for my school one. However, if you would like to win a free blog design from someone much more talented than me, you should definitely follow my blog. And that's all I'm going to say about that for now ;)

Kelly made this great dismissal checklist that I totally need to adapt for my room. I have a lot of clock-watchers, and they sprint out of the door as soon as the bell rings, taking my supplies with them and leaving a mess behind. I love this idea to post my expectations of how their desks should look before they leave, so if I have to go get them from lunch to fix it, they are totally busted!! Is that horrible? Sometimes I take great pleasure in busting kids!

Nick linked up a few weeks ago about his Tunes Tuesday. I am so excited that he decided to make a linky out of it! Go to {this post} and find the Google Document to pick your song and skill. Then second part of the linky happens this Tuesday. And if you don't follow him, you totally should. He has some awesome ideas and is very creative!

Chocolate. Chip. Cookie. Dough. Bites. Do I need to say more?!

I want to make one of these for my room. I stink at lettering, so I'll be using my Silhouette for that.

My own kids are totally into money right now. I think that I need to capitalize on that. If you have any ideas for good chores for a three and seven-year-old, please let me know in the comments!

And I just found this linky that ties into this post!

  3. I have been toying with the idea of a classroom website, too. I think it would be great for the parents.

  4. I think Tunes Tuesday is going to be great!

I made myself one of those dismissal checklist posters to use for next year! And Ladybug Teacher's website is ridiculously good looking. We have websites through our school system, and they have to have a uniform look...which is kind of frumpy. I don't use it like I should...

And thanks for the shout-out and the kind words!

  6. The dismissal checklist is the next thing on my To Do list, right after making those chocolate chip cookie dough bites of heaven.

  7. I am loving all these ideas! I, too, want to start a class blog. I have attempted through Megan's tutorials at I Teach. What's Your Super Power, but I am having problems sizing the header. It's frustrating! I did get the background set :) Good luck!
