The excel directions were great! copy-pasted the highlighted Excel worksheet area onto a Word document with .5" x .5" left and right borders. This will be so useful to use along with my full-size attendance sheet that I use for my 6-day rotation schedule (I see each of my MS classes 4 out of every 6 days). It’s a quick way to check off before I grade and I can add some comment if I need to refer to it later (such as opportunity was given for redos). I use a different color per quarter rather than class so if I need to refer back it’s easier for me to find. Thank you for sharing this. <br />Shelby Science Ruleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07046288199124769881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8074452179383766411.post-21636845676963981292017-08-07T14:55:07.366-05:002017-08-07T14:55:07.366-05:00Can't wait to try this! I had a student in charge of checking the list with each assignment and they marked if a student was absent. When I handed back work they couldn't claim it was "lost" if they hadn't completed the assignment. My student helpers took their jobs seriously and really worked on being accurate. I was very happy with their work and how these lists helped. I will definitely add color coding this year.NoahStitcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06353432339915061971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8074452179383766411.post-56583318922835792352014-07-20T11:51:32.871-05:002014-07-20T11:51:32.871-05:00I've been making these Excel lists for a long ...I've been making these Excel lists for a long time. I think the idea came from Rick Morris. Mine are exactly like yours except I still put the student number on my slips and ask the students to put their names and numbers on their papers. It's easy to alphabetize and see if I'm missing a paper. Instead of a check for papers turned in, sometimes I'll just highlight the first box if the paper is missing and then put an x over it when I receive it.Diane Stricklandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07401714928530347829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8074452179383766411.post-48786447146692712532014-07-20T07:14:09.497-05:002014-07-20T07:14:09.497-05:00I love this! I teach in a middle school and have four groups of students, I teach math so I have tons of assignments with HW, CW etc. I can never keep track of who is absent, who handed it in late, etc. I tried using a notebook, and a weekly check off list but that never worked. I love this idea bc you can set it up ahead of time. I love keeping the list with the stack. This way when a student asks me if she owes anything, I can just look at the top of the stack.
