Classroom Progress

Oh, Wednesday. You're here again. I decided that this summer that I would go in to school for a few hours every Wednesday to try to alleviate the stress when August rolls around. I decided that when I wasn't able to get into my new classroom until a few days before school started. I was moving buildings, and my room was still under construction. It was actually one of the reasons I started this blog. If you go back to my earliest posts, you will read all about the angst that I was going through as I was reading about my colleagues revamping their rooms all summer.

So I am happy to report that so far, it has gone very well. Here are some pictures of my progress.
My corner/supply area

Reading table

Doorway

Most boring corner ever - This is where the I Can statements and word wall will be.

The most interesting part of the room - the back!!
I feel that I am far enough along so that when I actually have to report to work, I can focus on what I'm teaching and getting materials ready. And making negotiations...

And welcome to my new followers from {yesterday's feature} on The Teaching Tribune. Ursula Gamier won yesterday's Rafflecopter for the HUGE gift basket!! Make sure that you enter today's new Rafflecopter. I REALLY wish that I could win some of these prizes. I was fortunate to join this group of ladies pretty late in the game, so they tackled most of the hard work it took to put together this new collaborative blog.

Today is my last day of the Christmas in July sale. My most expensive items are 20% off today.

  7. You are so much more organized than I am! I am trying to still unpack boxes and get everything put away. I hate moving classrooms. *sigh*

  8. Oh gosh, I WISH we could go in early. Our principal will let us in on August 5. We officially report back on the 12th and the kiddos come on the 14th. I know he thinks he's doing us a favor by keeping us away from work...but yikes! I'd rather get in there now, get the room ready, and then enjoy a relaxing last week of vacation.

    Sigh.

  10. I wish I could get into my room, but they're still cleaning the floors...like you, I'm hoping to be able to focus more on prep and less on decorating once school is actually in session.

Oh, how I envy your blue wall, btw. My super bright yellow wall grates on my nerves...

  11. Your room is looking great! We can't get in until August 1st or later... I don't need to do a lot of decorating but I have to unpack my random stuff and get it all set up.

I love your pennants! Those look great! I also love how your No Name clips turned out in your room... Might need to make a few of those once I get into my room :)

    Good luck on your set-up!

    1. They are tissue paper puffs I made for truffle tree tops. They were originally from Martha Stewart's site for flower poms or something like that.

  13. That's a great idea! I live about 30 minutes away, so I only go a few times, but I have it pretty easy usually.
