Comfy, but can you see my big toes poking through? (Also, ignore the flip flop tan lines :/) |
On to the educational portion of this post :)
In addition to all of the games that we played to get ready for our Native American test, today we did a review with QR codes. I recently discovered that we had a set of 14 iPods with cameras that already had QR reading software on them. FYI - There are many free QR code readers out there. Just go to your App Store and search.
To make the codes, I went to a free site called {Kaywa QR Code}. You'll see choices for URL, Facebook, Contact etc. Click on More. Select Text. Type in what you want it to say and click Generate. Then copy and paste the QR code into the document where you want it. I recommend that you create a document containing all of the questions first so that you can copy and paste into the generator. That way you have a record of all of the questions without having to scan them to remember what you wrote. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything...
I am including this activity in my soon-to-be-finished Native American review bundle. {Follow me on TpT} if you want to be notified when it's available!
And because I haven't posted pictures of my garden recently and just found this picture when I was pulling off the other pictures in this post, here you go :)
Sad that they didn't seem to work, but it's nice that you could get 2 quality pairs for less. I'm looking at some cute ones online at Target for only $39. Something about spending almost $200 on shoes just doesn't sit well with me.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY want to try and use QR codes in my class, but I don't have an iPad or anything yet to use them with. Hopefully my wish will be granted soon though!

I'm so glad you updated about the Tieks. I started looking at them after your original post. I think I'll stick to my flip flops now!

Thanks for sharing about your Tieks. I've been wondering about them.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your kids enjoyed QR codes. My kiddos love them too.

I have never heard of Tieks (am I living under a rock!?) but I guess I'm not missing out! Your lucky to have access to so many iPods. QR codes are great!

Oh noooo! I'm so sad the Tieks didn't work out. At least you get your $200 (or whatever ridiculous cost) back. Unfortunately, I would have the same toe sticking out problem, among others, so I won't bother with them. But ya gotta looove that packaging! It's like getting a huge present, in a Tiffany Blue box. So cool.

I have never heard of Tieks which is probably a good thing. :) I don't need another pricey thing added to my "want list"! The toe thing would bother me too. I love that you made your own QR codes. I still need to try that someday. :)

ReplyDeleteYour review convinced me that I don't need them. My toes would do the same and I worried about the sizes, since as I am getting older my feet are stretching- cruel trick! Love your flowers!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the tip on the QR codes and how you make them! I have been curious as to how it all worked, but hadn't yet taken the time to investigate. Thanks for doing a bit of my homework for me! :)

Crafting Connections
I have been looking for a Native American unit. Does it cover the whole U.S.? If so, when do you think that it will be available? Thank you!
